Get Cozy with DB2 for z/OS Stored Procedures and UDFs

15:55  -  16:40
Krakow, Galileo

In recent years stored procedures and user defined functions (UDFs) have become more and more popular, and not only because they move the program logic closer to the data (effectively reducing communication costs), but also because they allow DB2 applications to work with non-traditional data and let database administrators automate routine maintenance tasks. In this presentation the audience will learn the concepts of DB2 for z/OS stored procedures and UDFs. Application developers will become familiar with recent enhancements in this area and will be taught how to monitor procedures and functions, while DBAs will learn how some of their routine tasks can be simplified with a set of administrative procedures available with DB2 out of the box.
